On 31st January 2025, the University of Ghana emerged winners of the Templars Ghana Qualifying rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition.
The competition, held from the 28th of January to 31st January 2025 involved 7 law schools from Universities across Ghana. The schools included Mountcrest University College(MCU), University of Ghana(UG) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,(KNUST). Other participating universities in the competition were the University of Professional Studies, Accra(UPSA), University of Cape Coast(UCC), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration(GIMPA) and Wisconsin International University College(WIUC).
Panel for the Competition comprised Justices of the Superior Court of Judicature, Law lecturers, Solicitors and Barristers. The Panel subjected the teams to time honored principles of international law over a four day period. After four days of captivating rounds, the University of Ghana emerged first with KNUST placing second and Mountcrest University clinching the third position. .

The Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition is a public international law moot court competition in which more than 600 universities participate world-wide. The competition, established 50 years ago is run by the International Law Students Association. The competition typically involves complex issues of public international law, ranging from State responsibility to the law of sea, human rights law and environmental law. Successful teams from individual countries go on to compete in the Shearman & Sterling international rounds, which take place every spring in Washington, DC.
