The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) on 15th September 2026 inaugurated a new library facility at Kasseh in Ada, leaving behind a permanent community asset following its 2026/2027 Annual Conference.
Known as the Ghana Bar Legacy Library Centre, the facility forms part of an initiative by the Association to ensure that its annual conferences leave a tangible footprint in the communities that host the Bar.
The project was unveiled during this year’s Annual Conference in Ada, which brought together some members of the Bench and Bar, government officials, academics and other stakeholders in the legal profession.
Speaking at the inauguration, President of the Ghana Bar Association, Mrs. Efua Ghartey, underscored the thinking behind the initiative and the Association’s commitment to leaving a lasting legacy in host communities thanking the executives of the Greater bar branch of the GBA for its inexhaustible devotion to the legacy project.
The project also carries particular significance for the Greater Accra Regional Branch of the GBA, which hosted this year’s Conference in Ada.

The library adds to a number of community-focused activities undertaken alongside the Conference. These included a joint donation by the GBA and Unilever Ghana Limited to the Ada East District Hospital, as well as legal literacy programmes on local radio stations.
The initiative appears to signal a deliberate shift towards ensuring that the impact of the Bar Conference is felt beyond the conference venue itself.

For Ada, the lawyers may have departed at` the end of the Conference, but the Legacy Library remains- a physical reminder of the Bar’s visit and, more importantly, an investment intended to continue serving the community long after the final conference session.
