CLASH OVER A WOMAN LEAVES ONE DEAD
The Accra High Court has sentenced Godwin Kotey to five years imprisonment after he pled guilty to the charge of manslaughter.
The accused who lives in James Town, near Salaga Market, in Accra arranged with his cousin, Sackey, to host his girlfriend, Victoria since it was impossible for him to accommodate her as a married man. The accused was later uncomfortable with the arrangement and accused his girlfriend and Sackey of being lovers.
This caused a series of confrontation which led to Sackey sacking Victoria. Victoria however returned on the grounds of having no place to live pleading with Sackey to make room for her.
This new development drove the accused to engage Sackey in a fight thereby fatally stabbing him. The accused was arrested by the people around and taken to the police station.
HAJIA4REAL FACES PRISON AFTER PLEADING GUILTY
On Wednesday, February 21, Mona Faiz Montrage known in the social media space as Hajia4Real pled guilty to romance fraud in the United States of America.
Readers would recall the social media influencer was charged with six counts of fraud and money laundering last year.
She pled guilty to only one count of the indictments which carries a maximum of five years imprisonment.
Additionally the 31-year-old agreed to pay forfeiture of $2,164,758.41 and make restitution in the same amount.
