On 22nd September 2025, the maiden edition of the This Lady Will Mentorship Conference themed “Empowering Women, cultivating purpose, Building legacy” took place at the Talkative Mom Studios in Accra, Ghana. The event brought together 50 women from diverse professional and personal backgrounds for a day of inspiration, mentorship, and purpose-driven connection.
The event opened with a keynote address by the convenor and founder, Mrs Christine Opoku Onyinah, Esq. Her message: honest, heartfelt, and deeply personal, set the tone for the entire day. She shared her journey with authenticity, reflecting on her beginnings, achievements, and the many obstacles she faced along the way. Her words reminded everyone that disappointment and detours are not failures but redirections, a preparation for something greater. Her story moved many to tears and ignited the conviction that every woman’s dream, no matter how audacious, remains valid and achievable.
The panel discussion that followed built beautifully on this spirit of honesty. Featuring accomplished women including Mrs Ann Sackey, Deputy country Director – UK Department for Business and Trade, Dr Mrs Thompson-Kwafo Lecturer, Ashesi university and Mrs. Opoku Onyinah herself, the session moved beyond polished success stories. The women shared their detours, doubts, and moments of imposter syndrome, the times they almost gave up, the heartbreaks that became turning points, and the failures that taught resilience. In place of the familiar narratives of effortless success, they offered something far more valuable: truth. The conversation gave permission to struggle, to doubt, and to know that challenges do not disqualify one from purpose. .

Beyond the one-day experience, the September 2025 conference also marked the launch of the This lady Will Mentorship a transformative 12-weeks programme that will support 10 young women annually through structured, meaningful mentorship pairings. Each cohort will engage in six weeks of group mentoring, followed by six weeks of one-on-one mentorship with seasoned professionals committed to guiding the next generation. The initiative aims to help participants refine their skills, grow in confidence, and succeed in their chosen careers.
By day’s end, there were tears, laughter, and renewed purpose. Something rare had been created, a space where women could grow both personally and professionally while knowing they were not alone.
At its core, This Lady Will exists for every young woman still becoming. Because becoming is a journey, not a final destination. This lady will, and so will every woman who walks through those doors, and every woman who will join her in the years to come. Together, they are rewriting what it means to dream, to dare, and to do.
