The President, Nana Akufo-Addo this morning commissioned the new office complex (“The Law House”) of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General office.
The construction of the Law House – spans the tenure/rein of President J.A Kufour, J.E.A Mills and John Dramani Mahama.
The edifice is a 12-storey contemporary office building with a two-level basement parking and same cladded in alucobond on its exterior.
The occasion was graced by the President His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo, The Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Gertrude S. Torkornoo and Senior Justices of the Superior Court of Judicature. Other dignitaries included members of the Bar and the Attorney General Mr. Godfred Dame and his deputies.
Speaking at the Commissioning of the law house, the President Nana Akufo Addo stated that the edifice became necessary given the need to modernise and enhance the image of the Ministry of Justice stating “the construction of the law house marks the culmination of a long journey that began two decades ago….and that the building would clearly provide a conducive environment for the administration of justice”.
In an interview with 233legal on the commissioning of the Law house, Hon Alfred Tuah-Yeboah a Deputy Minister of Justice stated that “Having this edifice for the office of Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice demonstrates undoubtedly Ghana’s commitment to improving and consolidating its legal infrastructure and the quest to further deepen rule of law and enhance the administration of justice.
In the coming weeks, it is expected that all outstanding works including MEP installations, general painting work and as well as glazed aluminium window works would be completed to enable full occupancy of the law house by the Ministry of Justice and office of the Attorney General.
