Justice Julius Ansah, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana, has passed away, aged 74.
The late Justice retired from the bench about four (4) years ago after 41 years on the bench. Justice Ansah joined the Judiciary as a District Magistrate Grade II in 1979, rising through the ranks to the Supreme Court in 2004.
Justice Julius Ansah was an excellent jurist, with a concise writing style. He famously delivered the minority decision in the 2012 Presidential Elections, which essentially found irregularities in the elections and ordered for a re-run between President Akufo Addo and former President John Mahama, in the affected polling stations.
May His Lordship’s gentle soul rest in peace.
