A Social Media platform Banned in Brazil

X, the social media platform (formerly known as Twitter) has been banned in Brazil. This follows a legal ping pong between that Country’s Supreme Court and X. The court instructed that X removes harmful content on the site/platform. However, claiming its mantra as town square for unfiltered content, X declined to rid its platform of the said offensive speech. The court thus held that the popular social platform be banned and the ban be lifted when its orders are complied with.
It is indeed a fraught time for social media platforms. Telegram another social media platform has come under intense scrutiny following the arrest of its Chief Executive for publication of harmful content. – The Wall Street Journal
Suspend Prosecution of Children for now.

Keith Fraser, the chair of the Youth Justice Board in England and Wales, has noted that children who participated in the recent riots in the United Kingdom should only be prosecuted as a last resort.
According to Keith Fraser, while it is worrying that boys as young as 11 years were involved in the ruckus/rampage, he cautioned that a hasty prosecution before the courts was not the answer. He also stated that the authorities should consider the issue of prosecution on a case-by-case basis. –The Guardian.
Former Samburu Governor found guilty in Sh84m corruption case

The anti-corruption Court in Nairobi has convicted former Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal and 12 others for abuse of office and conflict of interest in the Oryx Filling Station scandal. The trial magistrate, Thomas Nzyoki noted that, the evidence, which included 200 payment vouchers and invoices, showed that, Lenolkulal and a proxy were the principal beneficiaries of these funds. The magistrate criticized their conduct stating that, a public officer must take a keen interest in the affairs of his office and should always adhere to the principles of good governance.
