Kofi Kyei Asante, a versatile lawyer with international experience has picked up his nomination forms to contest the position of the Vice President of GBA’s Young Lawyer’s Forum. Currently contributing his quota to nation building by practicing from the legal department of Ghana National Gas Company Ltd, Kofi Kyei Asante believes in public service.
The Young Lawyers Forum was created following an amendment of the Constitution of the Ghana Bar Association to cater for the interest of lawyers between 0-7 years at the bar.
Kofi Kyei, as he is affectionately known as, earned his LLB from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2016 where he served on the Welfare and Organizing Committee of the Law Student’s Union.
Kofi took a break from legal education by working closely with the Ghana Ambassador to China. He was instrumental in the success of the Urban Sankofa Project, under the auspices of the Ghana Tourism Board, which facilitated the settlement of African-Americans in Ghana.

Kofi Kyei Asante was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2021. In Nigeria, he assisted Ghanaian students in acquiring residency permits, a testament to his dedication towards the welfare of people. Kofi joined the Ghana School of Law Post-Call Class in 2021, where he served as Class Representative. In this role, Kofi is credited with helping in the procurement of free textbooks, organization of extra tutorials, a maiden workshop, excursions and other social events leading to 77% pass rate for the class.
He worked at Templars Law Firm, where he co-organized a Fintech Roundtable with Clifford Chance UK. Kofi is highly lauded for his leadership skills, dynamism and camaraderie.
He promises to support the President of Young Lawyers Forum in initiating policies which are people centered with the aim of supporting young lawyers to access opportunities for their career growth and development. This message has been coined in his popular mantra “The Young shall Glow”!
