The 42nd anniversary of the Martyrs Day- in remembrance of the 3 High Court Judges and a retired Army Officer- has been marked in a solemn ceremony today at the Calvary Baptist Church, in Accra.
The President of the Ghana Bar Association, Mr. Yaw Acheampong Boafo, in a moving speech called for an enhanced security of judges and court users, an end to unwarranted attacks on judges and politicization of the Judiciary and its decisions. He further called on the youth of Ghana not to offer themselves to be used by politicians for acts of violence and vigilantism as the 2024 general elections draw closer.

The Martyrs Day is marked every year. It enables members of the Bar and Bench to commemorate the works and sacrifices of the Martyrs whose lives were brutally cut short in the line of duty, the commitment to principles of judicial independence and rule of law and a day to reaffirm its abhorrence for all forms of violence and military adventurism.
