COURT FINES A PILLION AND MOTOR RIDER GHC 300 AND GHC 600 RESPECTIVELY.
The Kaneshie District Court presided by Mrs. Ama Adomako Kwakye, sentenced Mr. Kumessa, a motor rider to a fine of 50 penalty units equivalent to GHC600.00 while Mr. Darko, the pillion rider was sentenced to a fine of 25 penalty units equivalent to GHC 300.00.
Mr. Kumessa was stop by the Police while on patrol duty on the Opebia traffic intersection. The police arrested Mr. Kumessa and Mr. Darko after inspection revealed that both the motor and pillion rider were without crash helmet and the motor rider had no insurance certificate and rider’s license.
TWO SIBLINGS REMANDED FOR VERBAL ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICERS
On February 1, 2024 two siblings, Safianu Osuman and Aishatu Osumanu were at ashaiman district court with their mother for a civil suit. The two siblings however disrupted court proceedings by attacking and raining insults on police officers at the premises of the Court.
Their disorderly conduct followed an unfavourable ruling against their mother and would not heed the call of the court to exercise restraint. The two siblings were arrainged before the court and their pleas taken. They have since been remanded.
